Requesting Samples
Samples can be arranged for designers and architects by providing firm name, designers name, project name and project number either by email or fax in Canada at info@surfaceinteriors.com or in the US at info@robin-reigi.com. Square Foot Pricing
Surface Finishes are supplied pre-mixed in 20L/5Gal pails. Square foot material cost will vary in accordance to thickness of coverage, and total square footage of the applied area. Please contact us with the type of finish you are interested in and we can help you with square foot pricing. (Note: Small areas will bring labour and material costs higher per square foot for the bidding installer and labour installation pricing will vary from region to region, depending on the complexity of the finish and general regional pricing.) Installation
Surface Finishes are generally a two step process: (1.) coverage of substrate with Surface tinted Scratch Coat and (2.) two passes, trowelled on, of Surface Finish Coat. All Surface materials are water soluable, and contain low VOC acrylic polymers. Contact Surface for recommended finishers, or have your preferred installer contact us for more information. Custom Colours
Custom colours can be arranged by submitting either a colour chip or a major manufacturer's paint number. For custom colours Surface will provide a sample to match, and a minimum surcharge of $200CAD per colour will be applied on an order of 2400 square feet (8 pails) or less. For custom colours orders above 2400 square feet (9 pails or more), the minimum $200 surcharge is waived and a fee of thirteen cents ($0.13 CAD) per square foot will be applied to the entire square footage.
Fire and Safety Information
Surface products contain acrylic polymers, silica and plasters, with safety ratings similar to flat acrylic interior paints. As Surface products contain less binders than latex gloss paint, all smoke, fire and similar toxic or safety concerns are congruent. Please contact us if you require further information. See MSDS
Variance
Surface finishes are hand applied and are produced with materials which provide a naturally modulated finish. Subtle variations in texture and colour may occur during the installation process.
Durability, Maintenance and Cleaning
Surface products are composed of silica-based aggregates, powdered marble dust, and tints suspended in an acrylic polymer medium. These finishes are tolerant of common spills and stains such as dirt, shoe scuffs, pen, graphite or food. Soiled finishes may be cleaned with mild non-abrasive household cleansers. Highly recommended is the commercially available product Fantastik, or Fantastik with Bleach. Abrasive chemical cleansers may dull the finish and are not recommended. It is advisable to test a small inconspicuous area to ensure selected cleanser does not damage finish.
Surface finishes dry in 4-6 hours, but should not be cleaned before curing is complete in 3-4 weeks. All our finishes are very durable after curing.
Ordering and Shipping
All of Surface's wall coatings are available in 20L/5Gallon pails, pre-mixed. Materials can be ordered through info@surfaceinteriors.com or call 416.644.1081. A 50% deposit must be paid at time of order. Balance of payment must be paid in full a minimum 5 business days before shipping. Lead-time is approximately 2-3 weeks upon receipt of deposit. Surface can help arrange shipping, but all shipping and duty costs will be the responsibility of the purchaser. All orders are non-refundable.
Material Test Kits
Contractors may order small quantities of material for testing and sampling purposes. Per gallon cost is $100CAD for each type of material, plus $65CAD for 1 gallon of scratch coat primer.
